Our Vineyard AD ZIK GRADISTE are located in the North East region of Republic of North Macedonia, on a 550 m above the sea level, on 100 hectares, on a mid-row between the city of Kumanovo and Sveti Nikole, near the old archaeological founding and ancient city BylaZora. The land of ZIK vineyards has a mixture of small plateaus, rolling hills, and valleys that has supported vine cultivation for thousands of years.

The Best Producer Of Vranec Wine

Vranac is an indigenous grape variety grown in Republic of North Macedonia, Serbia & Montenegro.

This variety produces dry wines of unique taste and character, which are synonymous with the Balkans. The grains are large and dark colored, and the vine moderately strong and very, sted by hand and depending on the area, harvesting begins in mid-September and throughout October. Young wines made from Vranec have a light purple color and smell of fruit jam.

Strong tannin structure provides fresh and medium to high acid levels. After a year or two of aging, the purple color develops into
an intense dark ruby color, and more complex aromas occur, suggesting cinnamon, chocolate, licorice, flowers, dark fruits, herbs, and even wood such as oak.

 

The taste is subtle and full, loses its sharpness and develops a longer and smoother finish. ked, canned or grilled meats, salads and aged cheeses with strong flavors.

Vranec is well tolerated in oak and aging in the bottle, which is often necessary to tame its strong mix of tannins and acids. Due to its harmonious nature, it blends well with other gourds such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot.

Semi-dry red wine with dark red colour made from Vranec. On the nose this wine exhibits aromas of red fruits and on the palate you can notice black currants, raspberries, blackberries and raisins. This wine is full bodied displaying a pleasant and sweet aftertaste. Pairs well with grilled food, game and full-fat cheeses at 16-18°C.
